Don Barrigar, CEO
Don has more than 30 years’ experience in electrical contracting. He was appointed president of Acme Electric Company in 1991 after serving the company as Field Superintendent and Operations Manager. Under Don’s leadership, Acme has consistently grown using Don’s business model with its focus on providing customer value and building long-term relationships. Don graduated from Dunwoody Technical College (Minneapolis, Mn.) in 1980 and the JATC Apprenticeship program in 1985. Don has been a licensed Master Electrician and Contractor in the State of Iowa since 1984. In April 2021 after 30 years of serving as the company’s President Don was appointed CEO and continues to serve the company in this role.
Jackson Barrigar, President
Jackson has 9+ years in the electrical industry and in April 2021 Jackson was appointed President of Acme Electric, making him the 3rd Generation Barrigar to hold this title following in his Grandfather’s (Don L. Barrigar 1950-1991) and his Father’s (Don D. Barrigar 1991-2021) shoes. Jackson previously served as a Project Manager/Estimator for Acme as well a Project Manager/Estimator for Smart Systems Technologies (Irvine, CA). Jackson graduated from Dunwoody College of Technology (Minneapolis, MN) in 2012 with a degree in Electrical Construction Design and Management. He currently serves on the IBEW/NECA Labor Management Committee as well as the Boys and Girls Club of the Corridor Board of Directors and is the Director of Finance for Non-Profit Imagine For Youth Foundation.
Glen Henry, Vice President Operations & Production
Glen has more than twenty-five years’ experience as a licensed electrician. He started his career with Acme as a service technician and became project general foreman. During this time, Glen was active as an instructor for the local apprenticeship program. In 2002 Glen was hired by the local NECA/IBEW organizations as a full-time director of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Programs. Glen returned to Acme Electric in 2005 Glen is dedicated to assuring that projects are on schedule, on budget with customer expectations met. Glen graduated from Dunwoody Technical College (Minneapolis, MN.) and served his Electrical Apprenticeship in 1990.
Greg Merz, Commercial Estimator/Project Manager
Greg has 30+ years experience in the electrical industry, including more than 20 years with Acme Electric as a licensed electrician, project manager and professional estimator. Greg specializes in estimating and managing projects in excess of $3 million in both the commercial and healthcare markets. He manages submittals, RFI’s and weekly electrical projects. Greg completed Northeast Iowa Community College’s residential/commercial electrician program in 1987 and has completed many industry training programs.
Doug Boone, Industrial Estimator/Project Manager
Doug has over 30 years in the electrical industry. He manages projects for Acme’s industrial customers. Doug completed the Industrial Electrical Program at Northern Iowa CC in Calmar and the IBEW Joint Electrical Apprenticeship. He holds an Iowa Master Class A license and is active in the Eastern Iowa chapter of PMI.
Bill Bruns, Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager
Bill earned his B.S.E.E. from the University of Iowa in 1999 and joined Acme Electric Company that same year. Bill has 19 years of experience in Electrical Engineering and the electrical contracting business and is LEED certified. Bill’s experience includes power distribution design, lighting design, and control panel design. Bill is also experienced in project management and drafting using AutoCAD software.
John Feltes, Industrial Estimator/Project Manager
With 20 years’ experience in the electrical industry, John returned to Acme Electric as a Project Manager/Estimator in 2016. He had previously worked for Acme for 10 years as an apprentice and foreman electrician. John is currently responsible for contracting, estimating, designing & managing projects in various industrial facilities. John earned his AAS in skilled trades from Kirkwood Community College in 1998 and has since received certification as a Master Instructor/Trainer and Journeymen Wireman certification through the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. John is active in the IBEW Local 405, the Cedar Rapids Chapter of NECA, and is a member of the City of Cedar Rapids Electrical Examining Board
Keith Long, Superintendent/BIM Coordination
Keith has 20+ years’ experience supervising as a general foreman in the electrical industry. He earned his Electrical Certification/Apprenticeship in 1996 and is a member of NECA and IBEW 405 in Cedar Rapids. Keith has earned REVIT certification at Kirkwood Community College and completed manufacturer-sponsored training on the Trimble. Keith leads Acme in project coordination and scheduling as well as oversees daily field operations, including manpower, logistics, programs, tools and equipment.
Jess Lester/Safety Director
Acme Electric Company is 100% behind its Safety Program. Jess join Acme in 2015 and is the driving force behind Acme’s safety program and primary responsibilities are as follows:
