• Conceptual or Order of Magnitude Estimate; Preliminary Estimate; and Detailed Estimate.
• We next concentrate on the known design criteria and what information we have per each criteria.
• Combined with equipment supplier pricing and other estimating resources based on design criteria, we have a starting point for a Preliminary Estimate.

Value Engineering Philosophy & Process

• Acme Electric believes Value Engineering to be an organized approach to providing the necessary services at the lowest cost. VE process cannot negatively impact schedule or affect the quality of the product.
• These exercises are designed to identify unnecessary cost defined as, “Cost which provides neither use, nor life, nor quality, nor appearance, nor customer features”.This process provides the needed services to accomplish the original purpose of the project, at the lowest life-cycle cost without sacrificing safety or necessary quality.

Construction Schedule Strategy

• Scheduling and Risk assessment begins at the pre-job meeting held between Acme’s Managers, Estimators, Purchasing, Project Accountant, Field Superintendent, and Project Manager.
• Weekly office meetings are held to update information relating to the above information. This process is renewed on a weekly basis throughout the project duration.
• Acme Electric utilizes Microsoft Project scheduling software, McCormick estimating software, and latest AutoCAD MEP and Revit.
